Summer is Here

No longer just near, no, summer is here

She brings us warmth

And her gentle air

Those long days too

With time to spare

Our fruit she ripens

Our gardens she grows

Flowers she blossoms

In never ending shows

No corner is missed

No stone left untouched

By her gentle caresses

From dawn until dusk

I love how she settles

On our land and on our skin

She warms us so thouroghly

No dampness can cling

And then she will linger

She’ll soften with age

She knows we will miss her

As she leaves Fall her stage.

A Little Box

Had a busy day doing this and that for various family members and feel rather rich right now but wanted to post something new for those of you who come by now and then. Here is the lid of a small box I painted once, one of my favorites. It is square as you can see, each side being about 2 or 3 inches. I love doing miniatures. Maybe one day oils won't give me headaches and I can take them up again... You just never know... And that's how I really feel about it.
